# Why Avalanche? The Avalanche ecosystem and its applications are getting a lot of attention recently. Along with the explosive numbers in terms of user base and development, it still lacks a decentralized futures exchange. With all the benefits from the powerful network of Avalanche, having a DEX on futures will further offer a significant role to the users. Our team has been a part of Avalanche ICO investment team. Being part of the whole network growth has inspired us to build an application in Avalanche that has not been built before. Thus, a futures trading, decentralized exchange is one of the widely known protocols that is being used in other ecosystems, but that lacks the super-fast and efficient Avalanche tech.
